Today, on May 14, the State Duma of the Russian Federation, at its plenary session, considered the appointment of the Commissioner for Human Rights. As a result, the candidacy of Yana Lantratova was supported by a majority, with 301 deputies voting in favor.
Commissioner for Human Rights Nas Kishmaria congratulated the new Commissioner, Yana Lantratova, on her appointment, expressing confidence in further strengthening cooperation in the protection of citizens' rights and freedoms.
In her address, she emphasized the unconditional competence and high human qualities of the new Commissioner, as well as the importance of continuing and enhancing allied cooperation between the institutions of the ombudsmen of the two countries, highlighting the significance of joint efforts in human rights protection.
Anas Kishmaria also expressed gratitude to the ex-Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, Tatyana Moskalkova, for her long-term cooperation and support.
"Your work as the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation has become an example of dedication and true service to the cause," the appeal states.
