Anas Kishmaria congratulated the courts of general jurisdiction of the Republic of Abkhazia on the 100th anniversary of its formation

Commissioner for Human Rights Anas Kishmaria sent a congratulatory message to the Chairman of the Supreme Court Saida Butba.
"The judicial system is the most important component of the triad of branches of government of a democratic state and is aimed at implementing one of the fundamental foundations of its functioning – access to impartial justice. In this regard, I would like to note that the activity of the courts of general jurisdiction of Abkhazia is the most important element of the entire judicial system of our republic. It is in the courts that our citizens seek protection of their violated rights, freedoms and legitimate interests," Kishmaria said.
Especially in her letter, the Commissioner emphasizes the responsibility that lies on the entire judicial corps, because court decisions have a significant impact on the reputation of not only the judicial community, but also the state as a whole.
"The level of legal culture of citizens, as well as their belief in justice and the rule of law in the Republic of Abkhazia are directly dependent on the level of responsibility and competence of our judges. Working in the judicial system is not an easy service to justice and its principles and requires a person to show not only high professional, but also moral qualities," the letter says.
