August 14, 1992 is inscribed in bloody letters in the history of Abkhazia and all mankind as the day of the beginning of the Georgian-Abkhazian armed confrontation. 413 days of this war were accompanied by destruction and civilian casualties. The troops of the State Council of Georgia, accompanied by armed thugs and local Georgian militias who later joined them, in addition to directly participating in clashes with hastily created armed formations of the Republic of Abkhazia, engaged in burglary and looting, torturing the population on ethnic grounds, purposeful destruction of historical and cultural monuments of the Abkhazian people. The fight against this evil has been called in our country the Patriotic War of the people of Abkhazia 1992-1993 for 30 years. This sad date – August 14, 1992 – should serve as a reminder to everyone about the inadmissibility of war and the need to make every possible effort to maintain peace, both in our region and on the whole planet. The right to life and peaceful development is an inalienable right of every human being. People living in all corners of our Earth should protect the world!
