On October 10 the VIII International Scientific and Practical Conference "Problems of Human Rights Protection: Exchange of Best Practices of Ombudsmen" was held in Moscow dedicated to the human right to health protection.
The event was attended by ombudsmen from 59 countries, as well as representatives of international organizations, human rights commissioners in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, government bodies, scientists and experts.
Welcoming remarks to the conference participants were sent by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the Chairperson of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko, the Chairperson of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov. Addressing the conference participants, the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko spoke about the implementation of the state guarantees program, including: high-quality primary health care, specialized care, support for motherhood and childhood.
Summing up the event, Tatyana Moskalkova noted the inadmissibility of sanctions against medicines, medical equipment and aid. "Medical supplies are the property of all mankind and no one has the right to withhold them," said the federal ombudsman.
