Dear Aleko Alekseevich!

We congratulate you as well as the staff of the Abkhazian State University and all citizens of
the Republic of Abkhazia on the 45th anniversary of the decision made by the USSR Council
of Ministers to set up the ASU!
The historical significance of the first national university cannot be overestimated. Its
foundation was one of the central milestones of the national liberation struggle. From the
very first days of its basis the Abkhazian State University has become a forge of professional
personnel necessary for our country. Prominent government and public figures of Abkhazia
are graduates of our university.
The fruitful development and future of our Republic depends on the level of education and
training, so without any shadow of doubt we can emphasize that the future of Abkhazia is in
your hands.
