March 4 is also a mourning date, the day of the passing of the first President of Abkhazia, the
founder of the modern Abkhazian state Vladislav Ardzinba. Vladislav Ardzinba is the embodiment
of the Abkhazian spirit and value, all the best that has always distinguished the freedom-loving,
proud, passionate Abkhazian people. Without such an outstanding personality, capable of inspiring
people to historical feats, an independent Abkhazia would be an unattainable dream.
