March 8th International Women's Day! More than a century ago it became a symbol of the struggle for equality, justice and respect for the female. It is a day when we celebrate the contribution of women to history, culture, social and family life.
In the mythology of different nations at the basis of culture and traditions, women have always formed strength, personified wisdom and beauty. They were not only deities and muses influencing the course of events, but also warriors, leaders and rulers. In our era, women occupy important positions in various fields of activity: politics, business or public life. Strong and successful women have become symbols of women's emancipation and achievement in the new millennium.
From time immemorial, woman occupied a central place in Abkhazian culture, combining unshakable strength and tenderness, capable of protecting hearth and raising a child.
March 8 is the day when we bow to the spiritualized feminine principles and celebrate strength, beauty, wisdom and patience of women!
