Today, Abkhazia bids farewell to the outstanding political figure, historian, writer, professor, and academician Stanislav Zosimovich Lakoba.
Stanislav Lakoba made an invaluable contribution to the development of the modern Abkhaz state. He was a prominent ally of Vladislav Ardzinba and participated in all the crucial events of our country.
Stanislav Zosimovich was an active participant in the Geneva negotiations to resolve the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict under the auspices of the UN and with the mediation of Russia.
Stanislav Lakoba's legacy as a scholar is immense: he is the author of over one hundred publications, including monographs, textbooks, articles, essays, and essays on the history, politics, and culture of Abkhazia and the peoples of the Caucasus. Among Lakoba's most famous books and monographs are "Abkhazia's Militants in the Revolution of 1905-1907," "Days in Sukhum-Kale Flew Wings. Historical and Cultural Essays," "Essays on the Political History of Abkhazia," "Georgia's Hundred-Year War against Abkhazia," "Response to Historians from Tbilisi," and "The Abkhazian Archive."
I express my sincere condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and all the people of Abkhazia on the loss of our most worthy citizen. We will remember Stanislav Zosimovich Lakoba as a sincere fighter for justice with an immense love for his native land, to which he dedicated his entire life.
